Our mission: to help people discover and live out their God-given potential through the challenge of adventure. We know this is a great way to find a real mind/body/spirit balance - and have a lot of fun on the journey!
The place...
When God builds adventure playgrounds, he goes all the way. The spectacular outdoor environment of Tongariro National Park is right on our doorstep. BMAC has 2 lodges sleeping up to 50 people including self-catering facilities, dining and lounge areas, 3 acres of grounds - and even indoor rock climbing!

The people... With many years of combined experience in outdoor leadership and instruction, our staff know the surest way to a fantastic adventure! Their qualifications and abilities brought them to BMAC, but it's their genuine heart for the work and the results they see every day that keep them here. And the fact that they're a great bunch of characters is yet another reason people keep coming back year after year. The location... Just five minutes north of National Park Township, we're in Raurimu on State Highway 4. Email: bmac@nzf.salvationarmy.org or Phone: (07) 892 2630 The adventures... You're probably sitting comfortably as you read this. Maybe there's a coffee nearby, and the only sound is the relaxing hum of your desktop. But if you wanted to stay nice and cozy, then you wouldn't have read this far. We live in a different world at BMAC, and it's all here waiting for you - so hold on tight!

Here is where all those theories are replaced with real-life learnings. It's one thing to talk about the importance of teamwork - it's quite another to have your friends holding the rope you're suspended from! You're going to learn things you never knew about your group, including just how much you rely on each other when it comes to problem-solving, forward planning and (of course) making the most out of opportunities for fun and excitement.
What you'll each discover
We combine fantastic challenges with great coaching, and that leads to an amazing snowball effect - you gain increased ability from your newly found skills, so you're ready to step out of your "safe" zone. Testing your body boosts your fitness, sharpens your reflexes and focuses your mind. Each achievement builds your self-confidence, so you're keen to try more and do more. You'll also find that out here, you get to clear your head - giving you the rare chance to spend some time thinking about life, and maybe gain real insights into what God has in store for you. And an added bonus - since you're doing all of this with your friends, you can't help but grow closer to them as well!
The programmes...
The greatest location and natural resources are only of real use if you've got programmes that make the most of them. That's why we have such a comprehensive range of courses and activities, and they can be further customized to suit your group's size, abilities and goals.
